St. Cloud State University’s David Deminsky (Sartell, Minn./Sartell H.S.) has been named to the 2009 Northwoods League Postseason All-Star squad for his work with the St. Cloud Riverbats during the summer season.
Deminsky, who will begin his senior season with the Huskies in 2010, was one of just two St. Cloud Riverbats to gain NWL notice in 2009. A total of 25 players were named to the honorary team this summer. Rochester shortstop Corey Jones was named as the Most Valuable Player and Wisconsin right-hander Bryce Butt was named Pitcher of the Year as voted by the League’s coaches and members of the media. Rochester led all teams with five players selected plus they took home three of the individual awards.
Deminsky was 6-3 for the Riverbats this season with a 1.64 earned run average in 71.1 innings of work. He charted 38 strikeouts this summer and allowed only 56 hits for St. Cloud.
An All-NSIC and All-Region selection for the Huskies in 2009, Deminsky has been a major pitching force for the Riverbats in 2009. He currently owns a 1.90 ERA this summer, which includes 23 strikeouts and a 4-3 record in 47.1 innings of work. In the spring, Deminsky set a new team record in 2009 for the Huskies by charting 88 strikeouts. He ranked second in the NSIC this spring with a 3.12 ERA.
Deminsky helped lead the Huskies to a 36-18 overall record in 2009, which set a new team record for most victories in a season.
