BASEBALL: John Berling/Goldleaf Plastics Golf Classic Slated for Sept. 19

John Berling/Goldleaf Plastics Golf Classic presented by the Husky Dugout Club is set for Sept. 19, 2009

The third annual John Berling/Goldleaf Plastics Golf Outing presented by the St. Cloud State Husky Dugout Club has been set for Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Wapicada G.C. in nearby Sauk Rapids. This best ball scramble is open to everyone, and it will feature a noon shotgun start.
 
The cost is $95 per person ($350 for a team of four), and it will include green fees, cart, beverages and brats on the course, prizes, outing souvenir and a delicious chicken dinner after play is completed in the clubhouse at Wapicada.  All proceeds from this event will go to help support the baseball program at St. Cloud State University.

"One of John's (Berling) favorite quotes since I've know him is, 'it's for the kid's,' and that speaks volumes about what the Berling Family has done for this University and the SCSU baseball program in particular," said Pete Pratt, who is the president of the Husky Dugout Club and an assistant coach with the SCSU baseball program.
