2009: Enjoyed a solid 2009 season with 21 RBI, 34 hits, 29 runs and 102 at bats...posted six doubles, two tripes and one homer for the Huskies as a junior...batted .333...carded 12 multi-hit games...had three-hit games against RIT and SUNY New Paltz...blasted three RBI against UMC on March 21...first SCSU homer was posted on Feb. 13 vs. Missouri Southern...gained two triples on Mar. 9 vs. Northern State.

PRIOR TO SCSU: Spent two seasons at Ridgewater College…was a two-time All-Region, All-MCCC and All-Southern Division pick for the Warriors...made two NJCAA World Series appearances.put together impressive numbers, batting .345 with six home runs, 48 RBI and 43 stolen bases in two seasons…also compiled 18 doubles, six triples and scored 66 runs…played with the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods League this summer.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time letter winner on the diamond…named team’s Offensive MVP and earned All-Area and All-Conference awards his senior season…batted a whopping .488 his senior season…Honorable Mention All-Conference his junior campaign hitting .397 with 11 stolen bases…stroked 57 hits to bat .452 for his Legion team in 2007…won two letters for football, earning All-Conference honors as a safety and running back…scored a pair of letters on the hardwood as well, garnering Honorable Mention All-Area honors and team Offensive MVP honors.

PERSONAL: The son of Cathy Horning…a 2006 graduate of Willmar High… says his father and grandfather have had the greatest influence on his career…his legion team hitting back-to-back-to-back home runs to go to the American Legion State Tournament is his greatest sports thrill…favorite sports personality is Carlos Gomez…enjoys disc golf and Bigs in his free time…hit .392 for the Cold Spring Springers in 2009...uncle Dave Oehrlein is a former Husky Baseball Player and played in the St. Louis Cardinals organization…great uncle Bill Horning played for the 1956 Minnesota College World Series Championship team…an information systems major.
