HUSKY DUGOUT CLUB MINUTES - July 29, 2009
The meeting was called to order by Charlie Eisenreich at 12:00 PM at
McCann’s, St. Cloud MN on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 .

Approval of the minutes of the 6-1-09 meeting.
New Member Applications:
Barb Anderson At Large Voting Member. Discussion to notify Gerry Hoelscher, Craig Breitkreutz and
Dave Mingo they will become non-voting at large board members. It is difficult for them to attend the
noon meetings therefore not able to vote on any motions made. Kathy Taylor will call to let them know.
Treasurer’s Report was read by Charlie Eisenreich. Items noted were:
$2091.06 balance in bank account
SCSU COACHING STAFF REPORT ( UPDATE):
Coach Dolan reported they signed Lions All Star MVP from Sherburn, MN and three Division 1 transfers from the University of Northern Iowa. Camps having been going well, but the numbers are down a bit but somewhat expected.
Old and Unfinished Business
All Star Trophy will purchase a “Hole Sponsorship” at the golf tournament.
Discussed the 2010 banquet briefly. Ticket prices all the same at $50 per person. $350 for a table of 8.
First year out players will be charged $25 with hopes that will encourage alumni to come for the banquet
and continue to be actively involved with the Dug-Out Club. Suggestion made the players could possibly
help turn room over at the Kelly Inn to expedite the time and allow for people to be able to sit in dinning
room for those that need to sit.
New Business (AGENDA)
SILENT AUCTION
1.Sherry Nemec would like for the baseball players to be the ones getting items for the silent auction
starting in September when not a lot of auctions slated for that time of the year rather than waiting until
November-January. Pete Pratt and Barb Anderson will handle the silent auction items and Sherry will
help organize items along with helping with the bid sheets.
2. Maybe have a parent in charge of the players and other parents in securing auction items.
BANQUET:
1.Speaker – Pat Dolan said he will follow-up on contacting potential guest speakers and
Barb Anderson will work with Coach Dolan on the speaker and the MC. Jeff Passolt name was
mentioned for the MC and possibly former Twins GM Terry Ryan as the guest speaker.
2. Do we want to send out invitations again? Invitations will be ordered and mailed again. They will be
ordered again from Mike Kenney.
3. Are we going to honor Coach Lorsung or any team(s)? Kathy Taylor will check with Denn
Lorsung to see if he will be in attendance.
4. Treasurer – how do we want to handle money and deposits. Kathy and Charlie will get-together to see
how to handle the money.
5. Committees: Ticket Sales, Table Favors, Registration Desk, Invitations printed/mailed. Will ask Barb
Anderson to come up with list to be posted the night of the Membership Social on August 19, 2009 at
McCann’s at 6:30
GOLF TOURNAMENT
1.What kind of help do you want or need?
Committees: Registration Table, Hole Sponsorhips, Secure Golf Foursomes, Location for next
year
Pete Pratt and Barb Anderson have this under control will ask players, parents for help. There are
8 teams signed up already. Will use up the apparel that we currently have in stock before ordering any
more.
NEW BUSINESS:
OTHER FUNDRAISING IDEAS
1.Fishing Social
2.Family Garage Sale – Where and cost of locations?
3.5K Run – Jay Johnson?
4.5 Guys Burgers/Fries, Pizza Ranch, Applebees breakfast fundraisers?
7.$25 to list name in a program
There was some discussion regarding adding 2 additional fundraisers sponsored by the dugout club during the year. Recommendation to have the parents and dugout members be more involved in doing the fundrasing and the Board overseeing those committees. Further discussion planned for the next meeting.
MAC Fall Baseball Practice Update
Short discussion regarding the usage at the MAC. Nothing much has changed since the meeting that was
held early in the Spring between the Board, Brian Deyak, Lyle Mathiason and reps from SCSU. Mike
Bell has spoken to Mayor Dave Kleis in regards to the requests made by Coach Dolan in using the MAC
for 15 of 25 allowable dates with turf shoes to reduce wear and tear and that the team is willing to do all
maintenance under the direction of the MAC along with an all day field clean up day at the MAC.
