HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of New Ulm High School...a two-year letterwinner in baseball at New Ulm...All-Conference selection in 2008 and 2009...Honorable Mention All-State in 2009...earned one letter in basketball and three letters in football at New Ulm...two-time All-Conference and SCC Wide Receiver of the Year in 2007 and 2008...Honorable Mention All-State in football during 2008 campaign...helped New Ulm to win over Hopkins in state baseball tournament and hit three home runs in one game during his prep career.
PERSONAL: Son of John and Rose Fischer of New Ulm...criminal justice major at SCSU...enjoys hunting and fishing.
COACHES' TAKE: “Garrett is just a great all around athlete. He played football at State last year as well, so we redshirted him last spring as we didn’t get to see him much in last fall. Outfield is one of our areas of depth and he is right in the mix as a redshirt freshman. He had a great fall for us and we love his athleticism.”
