Games @ Laker Field in Avon: Cloquet/Becker vs. Cathedral and @ Watkins Clipper Ballpark
Game Note With several players playing in the Saturday football scrimmages, 15 players grinded it outand played some hard-nosed baseball at both sites. All hitters had 10 plus at bats and all pitchers threw 2 or 3 innings. And that’s really what the fall league is all about. Players need to get quality at bats and as much playing time as possible
"Where do you want me to play coach, I am just happy to get back out on the field and play ball. -quote heard from several players from each team
"The highlight of both games today at Avon were the amount of strikes thrown by the pitchers. Pitchers threw the ball over the plate all day long, which is the name." -St Cloud State Asst. Coach Luke MacLean

Melrose vs. Little Falls/Litchfield @ The Black Sox Field in Freeport
The highlight of the day was the pitching performances of the pitchers from Little Falls and Litchfield. Logan Kalis threw five shutout innings with 7 strikeouts in a 10-0 first game win.
The young junior pitcher from Litchfield started off the second game by throwing his first 12 pitches for strikes and getting out of the second inning by using only four pitches. He also anchored the batting order by hitting in the four hole driving in some key runs.
The team from Melrose had some solid pitching performances but could only hold off the offense of LFLP for so long.
The second game of the doubleheader was much closer going into extra innings but LFLP was able to pull off a late inning victory 5-2.
Great baseball was played all day with few errors and solid pitching.
“One thing I stressed to the players was being smart base runners and the value of being a good bunter even if you have average speed. This is a great group of kids and they were very open to constructive criticism” said coach Nate Hammes.
