2011: Peters was named to the 2011 NSIC All-Tournament team...batted .330 for the Huskies with 25 runs, 29 hits, seven doubles, one triple, one homer and 17 RBIs...added 93 putouts and no errors in the field for SCSU...shared duties as team's DH and first baseman in 2011.

Before SCSU: Attended North Iowa Area Community College from 2008 to 2010…was named All-Conference honorable mention and team captain.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Eastview High School, where he played under coach Tom Stret…a three-time letterwinner in baseball and hockey…named All-Conference and All-Conference honorable mention in baseball…named All-Conference honorable mention in hockey.

PERSONAL: The son of John and Sue Peters of Apple Valley…lists his father as the person with the greatest influence on his career…named winning the State Legion baseball tournament in 2008 as his greatest sports thrill…likes to travel to MLB stadiums as a hobby outside of baseball…named Albert Pujols as his favorite sports personality…majoring in recreation and sports management at SCSU.

COACHES' TAKE: “Joe was a really nice addition to our program in 2011, as we didn’t have a lot of left-handed hitting depth last year.  He’s another passionate player that loves the game. He’ll fight for at bats at 1st base and in the DH spot.”
