2010: Played in 14 games and started in two for SCSU...posted three hits and three runs in 15 at-bats...drove in three runs...walked three times...had 21 putouts and two assists...ended the season with 1.000 fielding percentage...scored the first run of his collegiate career against Wisconsin Parkside (2/6/10)...made his first start at SCSU against Wisconsin Parkside (2/7/10)...recorded his first RBI against Bemidji State (2/26/10) in his last start of the season...posted the first hit as a Husky against Mayville State (3/11/10)...went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored against Minnesota, Crookston (3/30/10).

2009: Redshirt athlete at SCSU.

PRIOR TO SCSU: A transfer from South Dakota State.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Delano High School…earned three letters in baseball, basketball and football…was a two-time All-State pick in baseball…was a two-time All-Conference selection and Team MVP…holds Delano HS career records in hits, RBI and doubles and single season marks in hits and doubles…played in the Lion’s All-Star game…was a two-time All-Conference honoree in basketball and football, earning League MVP recognition on the hardwood…was on the “B” Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Son of Douglas and Toni Althoff…favorite athlete is Cal Ripken Jr…says his dad has had the most influence on his career…brother Jeff was also on the Husky Baseball squad in 2008…biggest sports thrill is going to state tournament three times in football…sports management major at SCSU.

COACH'S COMMENT: “Joey is a guy that we are really expecting big things from this spring. He’s a big body player with some good pop in his bat. And he’s a solid enough athlete to play a few different positions. We have him working out behind the plate, first base and in the outfield.”
