2010: Made seven appearances in relief for the Huskies...pitched 5.2 innings...posted a 6.35 ERA...had six strikeouts...held opponents to a .182 batting average...made is first appearance against Concordia (2/15/10)...had his best outing of the season against Northern State (4/26/10) in throwing two innings of shutout ball with three strikeouts...made a 1.1 inning shutout appearance in a 20-6 loss to Minnesota State in the NCAA Central Region Championship.
2009: Charted a 1.59 ERA in 2009...1-0 in 5.2 innings of work as a freshman...five strikeouts to his credit.
2008: Sat out last season as a red-shirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Won two letters for St. Cloud Tech…an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection.
PERSONAL: Son of Chuck Koenig and Denise Kerr…a 2007 graduate of St. Cloud Tech H.S…a scholar athlete award winner…regards winning a 19-inning game against the St. Cloud Chutes in legion baseball as his greatest sports thrill…brother Chris Koenig is a graduate assistant coach on the Husky Baseball team…a business major at SCSU.
COACHES' TAKE: “DK will take over the role vs. left handed hitters late in the game and hopefully earn more innings with success with that role. He’s a great young man and great dad to his child."
