The Tom Nelson Story
Tom Nelson joined the staff at St. Cloud State University as assistant athletic media relations director in 1996. A 1983 graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Ill., Nelson serves as the University's men's hockey contact and also coordinates the athletic web site at SCSU. Nelson previously worked at Aurora University and St. John's University (Minn.) before making the move to St. Cloud State.
An active member of CoSIDA, Nelson sits on that group's Site Selection Committee. He has served as a media coordinator at numerous USA Hockey Player Development Camps and has been the media stewart for the MSHSL Class AA baseball tournament since 1997.
His hobbies include collecting vintage board games, square dancing and organic gardening. A former member of the C.W. McCall Fan Club, Nelson resides in St. Cloud with his wife Colleen and their two children, Lauren and Patrick.
