The Celest Stang Story

Celestine Stang joined the St. Cloud State University staff as the assistant athletic media relations director in December of 2005. Prior to joining the SCSU staff, Stang served as the Sports Information Director at Saint John's University (Minn.) in nearby Collegeville from August-November of 2005. From 2003 to 2005, Stang served as a graduate assistant in the SCSU Athletic Media Relations office while earning her master's degree in athletic administration.

After playing four years of basketball at SCSU from 1999-2003, Stang graduated with a bachelor's of science in sport management and recreation in May of 2003. She has also served as a media coordinator at a few USA Hockey Player Development Camps, was the media relations director for the 2009 WCHA All-Star squad and is currently a member of CoSIDA's Social Committee. She was also selected as an NCAA Division II sports information director honoree for the 2008-09 AVCA Grant Burger Media Award.

She enjoys scrapbooking, making latch hook rugs and French cooking. A native of Redwood Falls, Minn., Stang and her husband Jacob reside in St. Augusta, Minn., with their son Andray and daughter Roslyn.
