Art Department Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Art is based upon objectives that are four-fold:
- To introduce students to the visual arts through lectures, discussions, and studio experiences
- Provide a current and timely preparation for the studio artist or graphic designer
- Prepare effective artists/teachers to teach art to private and public school students from preschool to grade twelve, as prescribed by the Minnesota State Department of Education and the State Licensure Board in accordance with current educational philosophy.
- Acquaint students with the history of art and its function as a universal language.
