Women's Studies Student Learning Outcomes

Students will be provided with a foundation of Women’s Studies ideas, theories, and frameworks of analysis around both national and global issues. (WS 201, WS/ETHS 405, WS 415)

Students will learn how to develop intersectional analysis of race, class, gender, sexuality, and geographic or national location as they study contemporary issues and systems of oppression. (WS 201, WS/ETHS 405, WS 415, WS 315) 

Students will learn diverse feminist methodologies for feminist research and analytical practices and become familiar with the types of analytical questions relevant to a Women’s Studies analysis. (WS 201, WS 315, WS/ETHS 405, WS 415)

Students will be exposed to the interdisciplinary nature of Women’s Studies by taking courses in a variety of disciplines and by considering the interdisciplinary nature of scholarship and issues in the field. (various required and elective courses)

Students will become adept at applying Women’s Studies concepts and frameworks of analysis to a variety of contemporary women.
