Students will become familiar with the many competing goals societies face.

Students will learn that diversity exists regarding the values people place on alternative goals, and the tradeoffs that exist when public policy attempts to further these goals.

Students will learn the reasons for different types of institutions and their place in society, including for-profit, nonprofit, and government organizations.

2009

Students will learn to apply economic theory to issues confronting nonprofit and government institutions.

2008

Students will learn to conduct market research, policy analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and program evaluation.

2010

Students will learn to deal with diverse political agendas, to survey public opinion, and to solve managerial and personnel problems.

2012

The program will enhance the administrative and analytical skills of public and nonprofit sector employees.

2011

Students will conduct a research project (thesis or starred paper) or receive experience in an internship position.
