Studio Art / Art Education Portfolio Review Information and Application

This required review is for those applying to the BA Art Major, BS Art Education Major, or BFA Studio Art Major (2D Media, 3D Media, & Integrated Media), and who have completed their foundation courses. This includes students that received a 'no pass' from a previous review.

The Preliminary Studio Art / Art Education Portfolio Review Application is due on or before 4pm Monday, February 13.

Supporting Documentation Submission – 8am – 4pm Thursday, February 16

Students submit supporting documentation to art office between 8am & 4pm February 16. Student will schedule interview when submitting application paperwork. Supporting documentation includes:

1) Portfolio Review Statement (answering these questions)

2) Student’s Degree Audit Report: can be obtained on the web through e-services.

3) Major Program Application (BA Art Major, BS Art Education Major, BFA Studio Arts, 2D Media , 3D Media , Integrated Media). Student is to complete and sign the major application. Your adviser will be assigned and office personnel will secure the adviser’s signature. HOWEVER, Art Education majors will need to secure a professional education signature from adviser in the Teacher Development Department (EB-A132).

Student will schedule interview when submitting supporting documentation.

 

Portfolio Artwork Installation – 8am Fri, February 17 - 8am Mon, February 20

5-6 Pieces Required – Students install their artwork on designated wall space in the Kiehle Student Gallery (G10) & Rm G06 beginning at 8am February 19; all artwork must be installed by 8am Monday, February 20. Installation space is assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. One pedestal per applicant will be available. Computers are not available. Students may bring a laptop or tablet device to show appropriate work in a brief presentation for the reviewers (3-5 minutes). Please note that students are limited to approximately 4’ of installation space.

Individual Interviews – Monday-Thursday, February 20-23. Student meets with one or two art faculty members for a 15-20 minute interview to be conducted in the room where your portfolio review artwork is displayed. More information about interview.

Students can remove artwork after 6pm Thursday, February 23 and must be removed by 10am Monday, February 27.

Notification of portfolio review status sent via email by 4pm Fri, February 24.
