The Arcane Collection by Lisa Bergh
Sculptures of Wonder, Myth and Fabricated Phenomena.
The Arcane Collection reflects my ongoing interest in:
The poetics of mystery, beauty, and the grotesque
Art as artifact and experience
The intersection of myth, metaphor, history and science
The phenomenon of human reproduction, disease; and the psychology of the body and natural world
I am grateful for trips to science and history museums with my seven year old son. His infectious enthusiasm for archeology and science has had a significant influence on the resources and methodologies utilized in my art practice.
