Getting Involved
As of August 18th, all of our positions have been filled. Thank you for your interest and please consider applying with us for the 2009-2010 program year.
To be selected as a Math Enrichment Tutor with the Math Corps AmeriCorps program, applicants can expect to go through the following process. Reasonable accommodations provided upon request.
1) Application Form with Two Reference Forms
2) Initial Phone Interview
3) Application Follow Up Form
4) Math Proficiency Test
5) Site Interview
Completing an Application Form:
ONLINE
Candidates may apply online through the My AmeriCorps section of the national AmeriCorps website. To apply online, follow these directions. Please note that we have experienced some glitches with the online system. If you happen to have any difficulty or questions with your application, please contact Jennifer at 320-308-3050. Thank you for your patience as we work through this new system.
1) Go to http://www.americorps.org/for_individuals/ready/index.asp
2) Click on “click here to create an account” in the column on the right hand side and create a profile with the My AmeriCorps system.
3) Once you have created a profile, click on "Applications" and create an application by following steps 1 through 8 as directed. Please complete each step as thoroughly as possible.
Please ensure that you enter valid e-mail addresses for each of your references as this is the only way they can complete the online reference form. If someone you have chosen as a reference does not have an e-mail address, please contact Jennifer via the contact information listed below and a hard copy reference form can be provided.
Once you have entered contact information for each reference, be sure to click on "Click here to e-mail a reference request to the contact provided above."
Select the references you would like to use and click on "Finish Application." You can wait until the references you have chosen have completed their reference form before clicking on the finish application button.
4) When the application is complete, you must submit it to the AmeriCorps program for which you would like to apply. To do this, click on "Search Listings." Under Quick Search, enter Math Corps where it asks for program name and hit "Search."
For a full time position with the Math Corps, click on Math Corps.
For a part time position with the Math Corps, click on Math Corps Part Time.
* If you would like to be considered for both the full time and part time openings, please submit your application to the full time listing.Once the listing appears, click on the "Apply Now" button.
5) After clicking on the "Apply Now" button a certification page will appear. Mark the applicable statement and print the certification page. You must print this page BEFORE clicking on the submit button. After printing the certification page, click on the submit button. Your application will not be submitted to the Math Corps until the submit button is clicked.
A signed certification page can be mailed to the AmeriCorps office at the address listed above or submitted in person to the Program Director when requested during the application process.
Please note that any changes made to your application or reference information after it is submitted will not show up on the application form that the Math Corps program receives.
6) Once a completed application form is received, you will be contacted regarding the next step in the application process. If you have not been contacted within two days of submitting your application, please follow up with Jennifer via the contact information listed below to inquire about the status of your application.
HARD COPY
Candidates may also apply with a hard copy application. Hard copy application forms can be downloaded and printed by clicking on this link to the application form.
Hard copy application forms are also available in the AmeriCorps office located at St. Cloud State University in the Center for Continuing Studies in Shoemaker Hall (see B6 on the online campus map at www.stcloudstate.edu/campusmap). Upon request, an application form can by mailed to you as well.
Included with the application are two reference forms. Please give these forms to the individuals you have chosen as your references and request that they complete the forms. The completed reference forms do not need to be submitted at the same time you submit your completed application. We do, however, request that they be submitted as soon as possible.

Application Follow Up Form
As part of the application process, candidates will be asked to complete an application follow up form. This form is typically sent to a candidate once an application is submitted. To expedite the application process, you may download and print the Application Follow Up Form and include it with your application.
