Greetings!

Future Husky Annabelle Trombley, daughter of Matt '97 and Amy Trombley '97 '00.

The most surprising and enjoyable moment I have had thus far as president was at the 2008 50 Year Golden Reunion.  Each year, St. Cloud State University invites its 50 year and better alumni back during Homecoming Week.  I got to hear hilarious, touching, and amazing stories from these inspiring individuals.  From bringing an outhouse onto campus to promote the need for a student union, to springtime traditions, to the Physical Education teacher’s arms, the memories that were shared brought laughter to the room and warmed the hearts of many.  And this was just the breakfast. 

During dinner, people had more to share, time to reminisce, and the greatest sense of humor.  We heard embarrassing stories, saw some dancing, and brought 1958 ‘back to campus’ through our stories, our memories, and our friendships.  It was wonderful to see the community that St. Cloud State created over 50 years ago is still alive and well. 

I truly hope that when I reach my Golden Reunion – which seems so very far away – I will meet up with life-long friends and share as much laughter and as many memories as did the graduates of 1958 this year!
