Alumni Relations is strengthening our commitment to building stronger relationships with our alumni. In order to affirm our pledge, the University recently shifted responsibility of University fundraising to the SCSU Foundation. This has enabled our office to work with the Alumni Association in allocating our time and resources to serving alumni through departmental and college networking events, local and regional programs and increasing partnerships on campus. The result is that you have more opportunities to reconnect with your alma mater. Visit our Web site at www.stcloudstate.edu/alumni for our calendar of events and news related to alumni. Giving back through the Alumni Mentoring Program
More than 100 Alumni are finding ways to meaningfully give back to their alma mater through the Alumni Mentoring Program.
The program matches alumni who share insight as to what it takes to do a good job – the skills, personality, temperament and work ethic required for specific career fields.
Students have the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of SCSU alumni. Alumni are given the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to current students and the University and to maintain a connection to their alma mater.
Participants also meet during on-campus meal and speaker events hosted by the Alumni Association. Speakers focus on necessary skills in the work world, professional etiquette, setting and attaining goals and the importance of mentors throughout one’s career.
Registrations for the 2007-2008 academic year Mentoring Program are currently being accepted at the Alumni Mentor website.
