The Academic Learning Center's (ALC) mission is to provide study and reading assistance to students enrolled at St. Cloud State University to help them become more efficient and effective learners.

We offer assistance these ways:

• Courses (ALC Courses)
  We offer two 2-credit classes that have an instructional computer lab component as part of their academic program, Reading 110: Reading and Study Strategies and Reading 120: Power Reading, a general education course.
• Tutor Program
  We offer individual tutoring in general study strategies, time management, and test taking, as well as subject tutoring for some general education courses. Call the Academic Learning Center, 308-4993, or email, alc@stcloudstate.edu, with questions or to make an appointment. Or, go to the online tutor scheduling calendar to view times and subjects available and schedule an appointment. The first time you log in, you will need to create an account.
• Tutor Training
  We offer tutor training for peer tutors across campus. See our current schedule for training times and topics.
• Computer Access
  We have a 28-station computer lab equipped with software programs on study strategies, vocabulary, and reading comprehension and rate, as well as Microsoft Office applications and internet connections. When not being used for our classes, our lab is open for general student use.
