First-Year Students
Family and Friends
Family and other adult guests are invited to attend Advising Days. Family and friends will attend sessions with their student during the morning and a separate Family and Friends Program in the afternoon.
The Partners in Education Program for Family & Friends highlights:
- Information that is specific to one’s role as parent or guardian
- Factors that lead to student success
- Making a successful transition from “caretaker” to “coach”
- Campus policies and resources for parents and guardians
- Transitions in the first year
- Campus safety
- Purchasing computers through the SCSU Computer Store
