Whether you are a transfer student or a student who is attending college for the first time, you will not be navigating the university alone. There are many student services professionals here to serve you, and your academic advisor is one of them.
New First Year Students are assigned a professional advisor in the Advising Center, Honors, Pre-Business Advising or Pre-Nursing Science Advising. Students will have the opportunity to work with an advisor during their first or second semester to develop an Academic Road Map. Once that is complete, students with an intended major will be assigned to a departmental advisor (usually a professor). Students who are still deciding about an intended major will continue to be assigned an advisor in the Advising Center.
New Transfer Students with an intended major will have the opportunity to immediately be assigned to a departmental advisor. Transfer students who are deciding about an intended major will be assigned an advisor in the Advising Center.
Students may change their intended major on the Advising Center website.
