- Faculty research and scholarship

- Library resources and research support
- Impact of doctoral programs

The recommendation report should include the following information, as appropriate:

- State, Regional and National trends
- Best practices from peers and others
- Opportunities for interdisciplinary work

- Facilities implications
- Technology implications
- Fundraising or grant opportunities
- Curricular or other opportunities
- Impact on enrollment
- Opportunities to enhance campus/community diversity
- Identify items that require additional or more detailed planning efforts
The Faculty Research work group should work closely with the Faculty Development and Academic Program Mix work groups and integrate recommendations whenever possible. The work group is responsible for generating an open dialogue with SCSU’s internal and external community and will seek out key individuals and committees that may have information relevant to their charge. It is expected that the work groups will maintain a transparent process and stakeholder input will be reflected in the final recommendation report. Work group meetings should be open to the campus community and announced in advance. Work groups should provide updates on the progress of the work groups regularly through the Academic Action Planning web site and blog and should provide at least one process report by February 18, 2008. The recommendation report needs to be submitted by March 14, 2008 and will be used to inform SCSU’s Academic Action Plan and other institutional planning efforts.
